Harvey Nichols – Studio 54
Homage to the iconic 70’s nightclub
When Harvey Nichols asked us to supply of a whole range of elements for their windows and interiors, we were very happy to help of course – even more so when we saw their plans for a breath-taking homage to the iconic 70s nightclub Studio 54 and the disco culture and fashion scene of the time.
Process and Products Used
Masses of glitter, sequins, mirror balls and luxurious shimmering fabric were all used to bring alive this season’s runway trend of Studio 54 – a nod to the fashion scene at the iconic New York nightclub of the same name when it was at the epicentre of the disco era in the 1970s.
DZD supplied over 6,000 gift boxes which were used to create the giant faces in the windows and were also used in the store interiors. We also supplied retro style foil decorations, sequins, star garlands and glittered paperchains.
We were blown away by the finished effect of the show-stopping windows – and we weren’t the only ones – the install went on to win Best Christmas Window in an Independent Retailer at that year’s VM&D Awards.
