100 Days till Christmas 2022… here are some of our favourite displays from last year
We can’t quite believe it is time to make this post already, but the calendar doesn’t lie, it really is only 100 days till Christmas. Whether that thought fills you with pure festive joy or brings out your inner scrooge… we wanted to brighten your day by taking a walk through (unfortunately not literally) some of our favourite displays from Christmas 2021.
Christmas last year was truly special as it was the first time we were allowed to go all out after a time of restrictions. It was fantastic to see everyone create magical displays and socialize again.
So, in no particular order here are five of our favourite Christmas displays from last year.
Number 5
First up we have the Dorchester. The Dorchester last year had beautiful decorations for the interior and exterior of their hotels, in a style that accentuates the hotel’s natural glamour. The finished design was inspired by the colours of the renowned Promenade within the hotel.
Picking up the tones of the soft furnishings they chose deeps greens, oranges and coppers. This was then complimented by an accent of mulberry to bring all of the colours together, giving a luxurious look and feel to the decorations.
We absolutely loved the finished displays and thought they complimented the hotel beautifully, as well as bringing the perfect festive touch. We were also extremely happy to hear that the installation was a hit with both staff and guests alike.
Number 4
Warner Leisure went for a country and costal style for Christmas 2021. They contacted us to design and install a country and coastal style Christmas for all 13 of their hotels.
The first tree we created was the country tree. We used a mixture of copper and gold baubles which gave the tree a really rich, luxurious feel. We then added some large, red berry garlands around the trees which really lifted all the colours. The final flourish was some of our gorgeous pheasant feathers which worked brilliantly with the country theme. The whole tree was then lit with our Home Range warm white lights.
On the coastal trees we used a mixture of white, turquoise and our glass look tinted baubles in blue. Throughout the tree we had the Home Range ice blue lights. Our two feature decorations were the coral snowflakes and starfish which were nestled in trees, garlands and wreaths really bringing the coastal theme to life!
We love how they turned out and quickly became one of our favourite displays of the year! They were extremely eye-catching and really created a wonderful festive atmosphere in their hotels.
Number 3
Next we have Fortnum and Mason. Every year Fortnum and Mason create gorgeous classic and elegant Christmas displays. Their decorated trees and wreaths are always beautiful and we love seeing our DZD baubles in action. Last year their scheme was loosely linked to Matthew Bournes Nutcracker.
In 2021 Fortnums selected various sizes of pre-lit trees from our recyclate Ruthven range which was brand new last year.
They used a selection of pinks, purples and their signature eau de nil colour when selecting decorations which ranged from baubles to stars. A variety of shapes and scale were used in their interior displays creating a playful, magical and dreamlike feel.
Fortnums loved the trees and all the decorations, as did their customers. We were in absolute awe at how beautiful they turned out. What a fabulous festive display!
Number 2
Boux Avenue was another fabulous display from Christmas 2021. Boux’s festive display was created with a Studio 54 feel in mind – capturing the iconic glamour in a festive style.
Bright pink baubles were used (which was a nod to the Boux logo) with silver mirror balls and crystal curtains – the combination really created an eye-catching display.
Our favorite aspect of the display was the different sizes of stars hung at different levels to give the perfect Christmas feel.
This was installed in a total of 31 stores across the UK. It really shows pink can be perfect for Christmas!
Number 1
Last but not least we have Schweppes who were sponsoring Christmas for Joys Entry in Belfast.
Rebel events were contacted by Schweppes to help them create a truly magical walkway down the famous Joys Entry.
Joys Entry is a narrow alleyway steeped in history and situated between two bars, Henrys and The Jailhouse. Each Christmas they dress these areas and ensure that it gives the visitors a fantastic, Christmas Insta moment as well as celebrating the area’s history.
Rebel Events created a walkway of lights and decorations using over twenty of our fir arches. Each one was dressed with our warm white LEDS and a mixture of red, gold, copper and pink baubles in both shiny and glitter finishes to create the ultimate sparkle and breath taking experience as people walked through.
This truly was a ‘selfie-central’ and we can totally understand why – it is absolutely stunning and really captures the feel of Christmas. We almost wish it was still there so we could visit and snap a selfie!
We really do love to see the finished displays as they are unveiled each year and of course this is only a very small selection of the eye-catching installations we loved from last year.
Thinking of a greener Christmas this year? Why not have a look at our recyclate range of garlands, tree’s, baubles, and ribbon. https://www.dzd.co.uk/eco-friendly-range/
